Drew Lock

2020 salary: $1.5 million

A starting quarterback that costs only $1.5 million? Any team is going to sign up for that, but when it is a promising quarterback that could be the team’s future, it’s a true bargain.

Drew Lock has a base salary of just over $863,000 for the coming season. A signing bonus of $779,000 takes it up to the level where it is. As discussed here, Lock is set to make less than his backup, Jeff Driskel will in 2020.

Lock is eventually going to command a big deal as long as things go as planned with him, but for now the Broncos can sit back and enjoy his low salary while giving the bigger contracts to more established veterans and star players.

For many of the teams in the league, the starting quarterback is the highest-paid player on the team. For the Broncos, there are 23 players on the team who will make more than Lock this coming season.

Next. Will Drew Lock have a chip on his shoulder in 2020?. dark

If Lock were to put up Pro-Bowl level numbers this season, the deal he is signed to could be viewed as one of the best values in all of football.
