Phillip Lindsay

2020 salary: $755,000

Phillip Lindsay may deserve a new deal more than any player on the team and the fact that the Broncos have a guy who has back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons and costs them less than $1 million per season is hard to believe.

It is the kind of thing you just don’t hear of in the NFL. When a player does that, they were a high draft pick or a proven star. But Lindsay, a fan favorite already due to his local ties, was not only undrafted but wasn’t even invited to the scouting combine.

Lindsay will have to compete with a former first-round pick in Melvin Gordon this season for carries, but no one should feel that he is not up to the challenge and frankly, might still be the best running back on the roster.

John Elway has stated before that he wants to get Lindsay a new deal at some point and if he has another big season in 2020, it has to be a given.

If the Broncos don’t do it, another team will. Lindsay is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this offseason and though that makes it tougher for a team to take him than if he were an unrestricted free agent, but it’s not impossible.
