Week 6: 2012 @ San Diego Chargers

Monday Night Football.

The Denver Broncos were 2-3 heading into a week six matchup against the San Diego Chargers, and frankly, things weren’t going all that great for the Peyton Manning-led Broncos.

Until something clicked at halftime of this particular game against the Chargers.

This will go down as one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history as the Broncos, who trailed 24-0 at halftime, made one of the most miraculous second-half comebacks you will ever see.

The Broncos began chipping away early in the second half and just kept on chipping. The offense made some big plays, and the defense got a huge boost from a forced fumble by Elvis Dumervil that was returned for a touchdown by Tony Carter, who also had an interception in this game.

That forced fumble by Elvis Dumervil came with less than five minutes remaining in the third quarter, and at that point the Broncos were still down 24-7.

The tide shifted then and there as the fumble return touchdown by Tony Carter put the Broncos in position to claw back in at 24-14.

At 24-21, Carter picked off a Philip Rivers pass and then came the brilliant go-ahead touchdown throw to Brandon Stokley.

This victory was sealed with an interception for a touchdown by Chris Harris Jr. late in the fourth quarter as the Broncos went from losing 24-0 to winning 35-24.

That win was the beginning of an 11-game winning streak for the Broncos which spanned over 13 weeks (regular season bye, playoff bye).
