Week 5: 2013 @ Dallas Cowboys
Among Broncos Country’s favorite games of the 2010s, you hear about the 2013 matchup in Dallas more than most others.
This game was the quintessential NFL shootout and two great quarterbacks going at it to the bitter end.
Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys were only 2-2 going into this game, but they put their Sunday best on for the Denver Broncos.
Romo was on fire, throwing for 506 yards and five touchdown passes, but one very crucial interception.
Late in the game, Romo’s interception to Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan sealed the win for Denver, which needed to score 51 points to win this particular matchup.
Keep in mind also — the Broncos were without a suspended Von Miller for this game and every game to open the 2013 season, at least for the first six games. Not having Miller off the edge certainly reared its ugly head throughout the 2013 season for the Broncos, but in this game against Dallas, Denver had enough offensive firepower to outlast an out-of-his mind Tony Romo, who was making every play imaginable up to the end.
