Week 2: 2015 @ Kansas City Chiefs

After opening their 2015 season at home against the Baltimore Ravens in shocking fashion, the Denver Broncos had a short week to travel to Kansas City for a rare week two Thursday Night Football game.

It was clear after one week of action that Peyton Manning was not the Peyton Manning we had all seen from 2012-14. Manning’s physical skills had diminished, and the Broncos were relying on their defense to carry them through.

The Broncos trailed this game by a touchdown with just over two minutes to play, and Peyton Manning put on a vintage performance in a two-minute drive, capped off by a 19-yard touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders to tie it up.

After Alex Smith had thrown an interception for a touchdown to Aqib Talib earlier in the game, the Chiefs sat on the ball with 36 seconds remaining in regulation, but it didn’t end up mattering.

Jamaal Charles, who had fumbled earlier in the game, fumbled in overtime and the ball was scooped up by cornerback Bradley Roby, who scored a touchdown to propel the Broncos to victory.
