Wild Card Playoffs: 2011 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
This particular game will go down in Denver Broncos as one of the best, most thrilling, “where were you when” type of games.
The game is known for Tim Tebow to Demaryius Thomas in overtime, but there is so much more about this game that is hard to believe if you don’t look through some of the facts.
The Steelers were the reigning Super Bowl champions coming to Denver here. The Broncos had just won the AFC West with a record of 8-8 and probably shouldn’t have even been playing in this game.
But they were.
And Tim Tebow put on one of the best passing performances of his short NFL career to out-duel Ben Roethlisberger.
Tebow threw for 316 yards with two touchdowns in this game, and also added 50 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown as the Broncos shocked the Steelers with Demaryius Thomas’ overtime heroics.
