Denver Broncos: 4 players from 2019 roster that remain unsigned
Adam Gotsis
It is a bit surprising that another team has not reached out to give Adam Gotsis another shot. He is a former second-round pick who is still just 27 years old.
In Denver, he never lived up to that lofty draft status. It raised eyebrows when the Broncos selected him that high in 2016 out of Georgia Tech, but there was hope that he would become the kind of physical, nasty defensive lineman the team was looking for.
He played in all 16 games in each of his first three seasons with the Broncos, but the 2019 season was a rough one for him. He was replaced in the starting lineup shortly into the season and then placed on injured reserve after having knee surgery late in the year.
He had a grand total of five sacks with the team and though he did offer some nice run support at times, he just wasn’t consistent enough on the field and he certainly wasn’t a player that could ever be a defensive force.
If a team is looking for depth along the defensive line, they could could worse than signing Gotsis. But he would be a backup and fringe roster player just about everywhere.
He was decent, but at this level, you have to be better than decent.
