Ronald Leary

Over the course of the last several seasons, the Broncos have signed some free-agent offensive linemen that have been incredibly disappointing. Unfortunately, Ronald Leary is on that list.

After spending five seasons as part of a very talented offensive line with the Dallas Cowboys, Leary signed a four-year, $36 million deal with the Broncos ahead of the 2017 seasons. He was supposed to help fortify the interior of the team’s offensive line.

In each of his three seasons in Denver, he suffered a season-ending injury. That was the main issue with him, but he was also largely ineffective when he was on the field, despite being one of the team’s starting guards during his entire tenure with the team.

Leary recently turned 31 years old and his best days are clearly behind him. He might be able to offer a team a veteran presence as a rotational backup, but that would be about it. Unless a team is in the market for an aging offensive lineman with a recent, serious injury history, he’s likely to remain without work in the league.

Still, for an undrafted player out of Memphis, Leary put together a respectable career for the most part.
