EA revealed the ratings for 2020 rookies for the Madden 21 video game. Let’s take a look at Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy’s ratings.

For all of the video game lovers out there, EA has finally revealed the ratings for 2020 rookies in Madden 21.

Three weeks ago, I predicted some of the team’s star players’ ratings for the video game, including the 15th overall pick by the Denver Broncos, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

I ended up being extremely generous with the overall rating.

Jeudy has come in at an overall rating of 75. As the second wide receiver taken in this year’s NFL Draft, it’s a solid starting point.

CeeDee Lamb, the third receiver taken in the draft, is also rated 75 while Henry Ruggs III, the first receiver taken, was rated just one point higher, at 76.

Let’s take a dive into the specifics.

We know that as a receiver, speed is one of the most important things. EA gave Jeudy a speed rating of 91. There are several other players with that same speed rating, but plenty that are rated higher are guys such as Henry Ruggs III (the fastest rookie receiver) and fellow Broncos rookie receiver K.J. Hamler.

Jeudy’s acceleration rating is third among rookies at a fantastic 93. His agility ranks second, also at a 93.

One of the biggest factors in an overall Madden rating is the awareness feature. It is what boosts an overall rating the fastest. Jeudy is tied for second with CeeDee Lamb, just behind first-overall pick Joe Burrow, at a 76.

When it comes to catching the football, Jeudy’s Madden rating is quite disappointing. At 81, he comes in at 20th overall among wide receivers taken in the draft.

Jeudy broke 11 percent of tackles, 20 percent of his total receiving yards came after contact, and 52 percent of his total yards came after the catch.

Jeudy’s jumping rating is kind of disappointing to me. At 84, he is tied with several others in that category, coming in at 35th among rookie wideouts.

As a player who will be on the field for a good portion of the time, stamina is an important thing. Jeudy’s stamina rating is a solid 89, while the top rookie in the category, James Proche, comes in at 92. That’s not a huge difference. It’s pretty respectable.

Jeudy’s change of direction is near the top of all rookie receivers, coming in at 90 overall, just behind Eagles’ Jalen Reagor. That’s something that could play a big factor when it comes to slant routes or comeback routes. Receivers will have to quickly turn upfield.

Route running is key for any wide receiver. For Jeudy, his ratings are almost all at the top of all rookies.

Short Route Running: 80 overall (1st)
Medium Route Running: 79 overall 1st)
Deep Route Running: 78 overall (3rd)

A rating that Jeudy is number one in—and by a big margin—is juke moves. That is when the player can make quick moves to fake a defender out. At 91 overall, he is five points ahead of the next guy, Lamb.

Next. How the Broncos benefit from Patrick Mahomes' mega contract. dark

There is plenty to work with with Jeudy and it be fascinating to see how much his ratings improve over the course of his rookie year.
