8. The Drive

It’s not every day that a single drive gets its own name. But that’s exactly what happened following the AFC Championship game against the Cleveland Browns way back in 1987 (1986 regular season).

It was known as The Drive. Simple, but fitting.

The Broncos, pinned back against their own goal line at the 2-yard line, engineered what would go down as the greatest drive in NFL history.

It was a 15-play drive that took all but 39 seconds off the remaining clock (5:32 when the drive began). There were a couple of incompletions and a sack that made fans bite their fingernails in worry, but in the end, Elway would hit Mark Jackson for a 5-yard touchdown reception to tie the game.

In the end, The Drive forced the game into overtime, where Rich Karlis kicked the game-winning field goal to move past the Browns onto the Super Bowl.
