1. Back-to-back Super Bowl victories in late-90s

Winning a Super Bowl is hard enough. Winning two is even harder. Winning two back-to-back is nearly unheard of.

But that’s exactly what the Broncos accomplished in the closing seasons of the decade.

John Elway’s career was coming to an end and he had yet to win on the big stage despite playing in the game three previous times. It was Terrell Davis, however, that led the offense.

Davis scored 15 touchdowns in 1997 to go along with his 1,750 yards on the ground. He averaged 4.7 yards per rush that year.

In 1998, Davis eclipsed 2,000 rushing yards and scored 21 touchdowns on the ground. It was one of the greatest season performances of all-time.

Elway was a big part of their Super Bowl victory over the Packers, even putting his own body at risk with the famous helicopter dive.

Elway finally won the ultimate prize at the end of his career, topping off what would end up being a Hall of Fame campaign.

Ed McCaffrey and Rod Smith combined for 115 receptions for 1,770 yards and 20 touchdowns, but it was tight end Shannon Sharpe who led the team in total receptions with 72.

The Broncos had a true dynasty in the late ’90s. I wish that I was familiar with the game of football back then, at the age of 4-5.
