Davontae Harris, cornerback

After losing De’Vante Bausby to injury last season, the Broncos inserted Isaac Yiadom back into the starting lineup at cornerback. He was benched again in favor of post-camp signing Davontae Harris, whose time in the starting lineup was met with mixed results.

Harris made some fantastic plays for the Broncos when he was given the opportunity to play, but there were also some ‘rookie’ type moments from him.

In his first regular season action defensively, Harris proved to be exactly what he is — a young player with tremendous talent and upside in need of development.

The Broncos wound up benching Harris in favor of Yiadom down the stretch last season, and his defensive snaps plummeted.

This year, it’s back to the drawing board at cornerback and while rookie Michael Ojemudia is considered a favorite to start, Harris could certainly push his way up the depth chart again and earn a starting outside corner role for 2020.

If he doesn’t perform well, there’s also a chance — like Yiadom (or De’Vante Bausby, for that matter) — he could get pushed off the roster entirely.
