DaeSean Hamilton, slot receiver

The Broncos had high hopes for DaeSean Hamilton coming out of Penn State two years ago, and he has certainly shown flashes of brilliance in his time with the team.

Unfortunately, for a guy known for his strong hands and route-running ability, we’ve seen more of the latter than the former from Hamilton at times.

He was put completely in the dog house by Joe Flacco last season after dropping a touchdown pass against the Oakland Raiders. He dropped another sure-fire touchdown pass with Drew Lock as the quarterback, and Lock actually favored him quite a bit more than Flacco last season.

It’s entirely possible that Hamilton opens camp as the Broncos’ top slot receiver in their 11 personnel package, which will likely be their top offensive package throughout the 2020 season.

It’s also entirely possible that he is beaten out for that job by KJ Hamler, and the abilities on special teams of guys like Tim Patrick, Tyrie Cleveland, and Diontae Spencer push him off the roster entirely.

I’m not of the opinion that will happen, but those two extreme scenarios are both possible.
