The media firestorm

There is no doubt that the signing of Kaepernick would bring about an insane amount of media attention. It would become the biggest story in the NFL. Would a team be willing to go through all of that for a backup quarterback?

There would be a section of the media that applauded the Broncos (or any team for that matter) for giving Kaepernick the shot that many feel he rightly deserves. Particularly in today’s current climate, Kaepernick being reintroduced to the NFL would be seen by many as a victory.

But like with anything, there would be another side full of anger. These are the fans that feel that Kaepernick’s political stance should effectively ban him from playing in the league ever again. There are also plenty of fans who likely wouldn’t care if Kaepernick comes back to the league, so long as he isn’t playing for their team.

If the Broncos were to sign Kaepernick, there would likely be a drove of fans swearing they would never attend a game, perhaps even giving up on their season tickets. There would be severe disappointment among a part of the fanbase.

This is something the team would have to consider before making such a move. This isn’t something that might happen, all of this would happen. Is it worth it to bring in a guy who has been out of the game for so long just to run into all of that off-the-field stuff?
