Joe Jones

Since the Broncos poached Joe Jones off of the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad, he’s been one of the team’s key special teams players.

Since 2017, he’s played in 35 games and has played nearly 800 special teams snaps in that timeframe.

The issue? Jones does not play on defense, for whatever reason(s).

The Broncos have not utilized Jones defensively despite his outstanding speed, and even with some injury issues over the past couple of seasons, he has only taken the field for 31 defensive snaps.

With some young players pushing up behind him, Jones is going to have to prove that he’s that valuable on special teams to make this roster.

One thing is for certain — whether it’s with the Broncos or not, Jones is going to be an asset not only on special teams, but in his community. He’s constantly getting involved in the Denver community and doing his part to make the Broncos one of the most prominent franchises in terms of making an impact off the field in the NFL.
