SANTA CLARA, CA – DECEMBER 09: DaeSean Hamilton has found himself falling down the wide receiver depth chart. /

DaeSean Hamilton could certainly benefit from a shortened preseason. There is no doubt that the team drafting wide receivers in each of the first two rounds in April was a slight against Hamilton.

The former fourth-round pick has played two seasons in the league and has never really done anything major of note and now with the additions of Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler, he is a No. 4 guy at best.

But that might be enough.

In order for a guy such as Juwann Winfree or Tyrie Cleveland to leapfrog Hamilton on the depth chart and thus, force a possible release, those players would need to have a stellar camp and preseason showing. Two games just aren’t enough to do that.

Hamilton is still young and could still develop into a decent rotational player for the Broncos and most likely, the team would like to see that out, at least for one more season.

Hamilton has finished each of his first two seasons fairly strong and if that can carry over into the preseason and he can make some plays, he could easily quell any thoughts that he should not be part of this team.
