DENVER, CO – SEPTEMBER 15: Will DeMarcus Walker be on the outside looking in at the Denver Broncos’ roster this year? /

DeMarcus Walker

There are those who feel that DeMarcus Walker’s roster spot is safe, but there is really nothing to suggest that it should be.

The Broncos could certainly live without he mediocre play he’s provided in his young career and at this point, he’s a situational pass-rusher who will only see a handful of snaps each week at best. That said, a player would still need to prove they are more worthy of that spot and in just two preseason games, that would be tough.

The Broncos have a promising young player in Dre’Mont Jones ready to enter his second year in the league. The team also used a third-round pick on McTelvin Agim while also signing free agent Christian Covington.

All of these players could prove to be more effective than Walker, but will the Broncos be convinced to move on from their former second-round pick? That doesn’t seem likely.

Walker would likely be kept around just to provide an extra pass rusher when the team needed one, but he could also find himself as a gameday inactive just as often.

Walker has been disappointing but the team would likely need to see a lot to be convinced to move on from him. Two preseason games may not be enough to see all of that transpire.
