Denver Broncos: Ranking the best WR trios in the NFL
9. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Trio:
- JuJu Smith-Schuster
- Diontae Johnson (SLOT)
- James Washington
JuJu Smith-Schuster has quickly developed into the latest in a long line of really good Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers.
The Broncos found out the hard way a couple of years ago when Smith-Schuster took a pass 97 yards to the house for a touchdown in Denver.
Even though he only played in 12 games last season, Smith-Schuster is one of the premier wide receivers in the game today and can handle a huge workload of 150-plus targets.
He’s joined by second-year star Diontae Johnson, a player the Broncos had in for a visit before the 2019 NFL Draft.
Johnson was one of the best rookies in the NFL last season with 59 receptions for 680 yards and five touchdowns. He also had a punt return touchdown.
James Washington led the Steelers last season with 735 yards and over 16 yards per reception.
This young trio is now joined by rookie Chase Claypool, who can play a hybrid tight end/receiver role.
This group of three receivers is young, dynamic, and dangerous to all levels of the field.
