Vance Johnson, Mark Jackson and Ricky Nattiel

If the Broncos had just won either Super Bowl XXI, XXII or XXIV, this list would be really short. There were so many great players that played in all of those games or at least one of them.

For the Broncos of the 1980s, the team had a trio of wide receivers that would become affectionately known as the Three Amigos. Vance Johnson and Mark Jackson played in all three of those Super Bowls and Ricky Nattiel played in two of them.

It is often talked about that Elway took these teams to those Super Bowls “by himself” but these three guys were a big part of the team’s offensive success in those days.

Jackson was on the receiving end of the play that tied the game against the Browns to cap off The Drive. Nattiel was part of one of the most exciting plays in the team’s Super Bowl history when he reeled in a long bomb on the team’s first offensive play against the Redskins and Johnson was considered to be among the best receivers in the league at times during his career.

Unfortunately, that’s their claims to fame as a Super Bowl ring would elude all three players. Both Johnson and Jackson went on to play for other teams but the ultimate success still could not be found. Nattiel lasted just six seasons in the league.

But from 1987-1992 when the three players were together on the same squad, they were fun to watch and outside of Elway, probably the biggest fan favorites on the roster.
