Denver Broncos

2020 AFC West Record Prediction: 3-3

While I believe the Denver Broncos will be a much better football team in 2020 and could make a playoff run, there is a good possibility that they finish with the same in-division record as in 2019, at .500.

However, if this is the case, this .500 looks a lot better.

Once again, the division should be much more competitive. In fact, even in 2019, it was pretty competitive, especially between the Broncos and Raiders, whose placings came down to the final seconds of Week 17.

Here are the games they could lose this season:

November 15 @ Raiders

December 6 @ Chiefs

December 27 @ Chargers

The Broncos and Raiders tend to split, and I don’t see that changing this season. The Broncos will have to get accustomed to playing the Raiders in a new venue, with the same energy and home-field advantage they carried in Oakland.

The Raiders will also be looking for some revenge after the Broncos ousted them from a second-place finish in 2019. Plus, these two teams could be competing for a Wild Card spot when all is said and done.

To continue, Arrowhead in December is always a bad recipe for any team, especially a divisional rival, who knows that is arguably the hardest place to win in the winter, especially considering the success of the Chiefs. The Broncos drew an unlucky card by getting to go to KC late in the season once again. Never say never, but I don’t foresee the Broncos getting the win on this day.

Normally, I would pick the Broncos on the road against the Chargers, but the timing of this game will not be ideal. The Broncos will be coming off of a tough game the previous week against the Buffalo Bills, although they get to play them at home this time.

They will then travel to Los Angeles to play in another new stadium. This game just has the feel of a potential trap game for the Broncos. Plus, it is likely that Chris Harris. Jr will get revenge on his former team at least once this season.
