3. Melvin Gordon & Phillip Lindsay (RB)

Although not everyone was on board with the 2020 free agent signing of running back Melvin Gordon, there’s no doubt in my mind that he makes the team better, at least on paper.

As a matter of fact, by adding Gordon to the roster, the Denver Broncos now have two 2018 Pro Bowl running backs on the team with him and former undrafted superstar Phillip Lindsay.

I wrote prior to free agency the potential thinking in adding a veteran running back, specifically like Gordon, in free agency.

In a nutshell, the combination of Gordon and Austin Ekeler combined for almost 2,500 yards from scrimmage with 20 total touchdowns with the Los Angeles Chargers last year.

Why would the Broncos not want that kind of production out of their running back position, if possible?

Why not have two Pro Bowl running backs if you can afford it?

Some would argue the Broncos should have prioritized other positions besides running back with the money they paid Gordon, and that’s a fair opinion to have, but his arrival gives the Broncos one of the best duos at the running back position in the league.
