2. Justin Simmons & Kareem Jackson (S)

In addition to having arguably the best outside linebacker duo in the entire NFL, the Denver Broncos also boast perhaps the best safety duo in the NFL in Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson.

Jackson, who has played and started in the NFL at cornerback and safety, came to the Broncos in free agency in 2019 and instantly provided a spark in Vic Fangio’s defense.

Simmons, a former third-round pick out of Boston College, has been on a consistently positive trajectory since he came into the league in 2016.

This duo combined in 2019 for:

  • 164 tackles
  • 6 tackles for loss
  • 25 pass breakups
  • 6 interceptions

These guys are absolutely outstanding and perfect complements. Both of these players are physical, both are fearless, and both attack the football.

Although Jackson is in the last couple of years of his career, perhaps the switch to the safety position can prolong his playing days and he can play well into his 30s after spending the first portion of his career at cornerback.

When these guys are on, they are a lot of fun to watch.

The game has slowed down for Simmons over the last four years and Jackson is a veteran who has seen it all. Together, they’re not letting anything behind them.
