Denver Broncos: 5 challenges team could face in 2020

4. Covering tight ends could remain a problem.

Ah, yes. The dreaded tight end position. The Broncos have lacked a player to be able to cover opposing tight ends for many years now.

Travis Kelce and Hunter Henry remain in the division, which is four of the team’s 16 games on their schedule. That is, if Henry, who has been often injured, can stay on the field.

Denver’s opponents targeted tight ends 129 times in 2019, ranking fifth-most targets against. The Broncos allowed the sixth-most receptions, fourth-most yards, but just 29th in touchdowns allowed to tight ends (three).

While the name of the game is to score points, and the Broncos not being bad at defending touchdowns to tight ends, the other stats are a concern. Hopefully, they figure out a way to solve this problem.
