Denver Broncos: Jake Plummer gives Drew Lock some great advice
Former Denver Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer had some advice for Drew Lock.
Jake Plummer has not played for the Denver Broncos since 2006. That didn’t stop him from giving his thoughts about current starter Drew Lock.
In an interview with Phil Milani of the team’s website, Plummer was more than willing to provide Lock with some advice going forward.
Plummer gave this piece of advice to Lock.
"“Strive to do your best and strive to bring the best out of your teammates. In order to do that, you’ve got to be yourself.”"
It seems as if Lock has no problem being himself. As Plummer mentioned in the interview—and as many people saw during a live Broncos game in 2019, Lock rocked out to a song that was playing just before the second half. He seems absolutely comfortable being himself.
That is something I think that the Broncos have been missing for a while. I mean, every guy has their own personality. From Trevor Siemian to Brock Osweiler, to Paxton Lynch and Case Keenum. All of them had their own personality, but they just didn’t exactly work out.
Lock’s personality is contagious
Teams feed off of the personality of their leaders. Just as they should with Von Miller, Justin Simmons, Phillip Lindsay, and others, a big spark of the team can come from the leadership of the starting quarterback of the team. Lock has to continue to take control of the huddle/offense and do his thing.
The Broncos have built a team filled with leaders/potential leaders. That is a very important formula when it comes to winning football games. No, it will not always be easy, but if everybody sticks together through every minute of every game and practice, the sky is the limit for this Broncos team. Now Lock has to go out and take Plummer’s advice and be the best person and player he can be.
