Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler will combine for 120 receptions

The Broncos took a wide receiver in the first round, opting for Jerry Jeudy over CeeDee Lamb. That pick wasn’t a surprise other than the fact that some were surprised Jeudy was still available at No. 15.

What was a surprise was that the team went and took another wide receiver, K.J. Hamler, in the second round. That prompted Broncos fans to wonder why the team wouldn’t have selected an offensive tackle and also brought on jokes that the Broncos were trying to build a fantasy football team.

But these picks will lead to big rewards on offense as both young wide receivers will have big years. That’s right, Jeudy and Hamler will combine for over 120 receptions.

Now, you may not think that seems like a lot, but when you consider that both Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant have to figure into the receiving game as well, it is. That would have Drew Lock completing well over 200 passes to just those four players.

Jeudy will be a starting wide receiver and should see plenty of targets. There should be no reason why he can’t catch a minimum of 60-70 passes so long as he can stay healthy.

While Hamler will be more of the No. 3 guy, he should still see plenty of action in Pat Shurmur’s offense.

Last season, Broncos wide receivers combined for 154 receptions. In 2020, that number is going to be much higher. The team took these wide receivers to make something happen in the passing game and with them and the insight of Shurmur, the passing attack will open up this season.
