RB Melvin Gordon

The Broncos are getting a really good running back with the addition of Melvin Gordon, who came to the team in free agency from the Los Angeles Chargers.

He brings a lot to the table, including his ability to catch the football out of the backfield. That is a big role for the running back position in Pat Shurmur’s offense.

That role was supposed to be Theo Riddick’s last year until Riddick was placed on injured reserve.

Gordon has 224 receptions in his career, for 1,873 yards and 11 touchdowns. This, along with the other weapons that the team added during the offseason, could play a big role, especially in the red zone.

Not only do Gordon’s abilities on the field make him very valuable for the Broncos, but if he can fill perform at a high level and keep Phillip Lindsay fresh for the entire time the two are a duo in Denver, Gordon’s presence should be highly noted. The Broncos do not need a one-guy backfield. The duo of Lindsay and Gordon should be really fun to watch in 2020 and beyond.
