Barring a breakout season from someone currently on the roster — and there are a number of candidates — the Denver Broncos may need to look to the early rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft for an heir apparent to Von Miller.

Hopefully, someone like Derrek Tuszka, Justin Hollins, or Malik Reed can seize the day for the Denver Broncos and prove themselves to be worthy of keeping a valuable roster spot over using a high draft choice on a player coming off the edge, but the Broncos know the value of depth off the edge.

The 2021 NFL Draft doesn’t appear to have a very strong group of players coming off the edge at the moment, but as we all know, one year’s worth of tape can completely change things.

Von Miller seems like he’s going to play well into his 30s, but there’s nothing wrong with a little top 100 pick contingency.

With Bradley Chubb coming off of a season-ending injury in 2019, the Broncos have to be wise with their stash of edge players.

One of the more intriguing players coming off the edge in the 2021 NFL Draft is Oregon State’s Hamilcar Rashed Jr., who was a first-team All-American in 2019 after racking up 22.5 tackles for loss and 14 sacks.

Other than Rashed, the Miami Hurricanes have a potential first-round duo off the edge in Gregory Rousseau and Quincy Roche.

After all the scouting the Broncos clearly did of the Wake Forest program in 2019, Carlos Basham could also be on their radar for 2021.
