Shaq Barrett – Week 3 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

During the Super Bowl run for the Denver Broncos, Shaq Barrett quietly played a huge role on the defensive side of the football. There were various points during that season where Demarcus Ware was out for a period of time due to injury. As he recovered, Barrett played alongside Von Miller.

He would record 41 tackles and 5.5 sacks during the season, which is respectable for a player who had a few spot starts. It was his ability to come through in big moments that led the Broncos to Super Bowl 50.

However, it was not meant to be as the Broncos would draft Bradley Chubb in 2018, making it difficult for Barrett to see the field. He certainly earned his chance to start elsewhere. And during the 2019 offseason, he would sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Now he gets to return to Denver, where his career first started. I do not believe it will be a bitter reunion. However, how he will perform after recording 19.5 sacks last season.

He is the one player that I am excited to see return to Denver. It is a shame that he could not stay. In his 61 games with the Broncos, he only had 15 starts. It appears as if things are looking up for him.
