Philadelphia Eagles

The other Pennsylvania team could also have some interest in acquiring Freeman.

Miles Sanders, an exciting young player, will be entering his second year with the Eagles, but how much of a workload the team plans to place on him remains to be seen.

Jordan Howard signed with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent during the offseason, leaving the Eagles without a power runner on the roster. In fact, here are the guys behind Sanders in the pecking order: Corey Clement, Boston Scott, Elijah Holyfield, Michael Warren and Adrian Killins.

It seems pretty clear the Eagles could use an upgrade when you read those names.

Freeman would not only provide a potential upgrade, but he might also be able to absorb the role that Howard had last year, giving Sanders some relief. It would be very similar to what he would do in the Steelers’ offense if he were to go there.

The Eagles would come with an offer similar to the one that would send Freeman to the Steelers. Again, the Broncos would just be deciding to cut their losses with this move.

They can stash Freeman on their roster as a backup emergency plan until he hits free agency, and there would be nothing wrong with that.

Or, the team could see into the future that Freeman may not be part of the team’s plans and decide to get something for him.

Freeman could help out as a No. 2 option to Sanders and give the Eagles a more balanced rushing attack.
