What impact would these results have?

If the season went according to these predictions, there would be several takeaways.

For one, the team would end its playoff drought of four seasons and though the first-round loss would feel quite bittersweet, the long-term impact would be beneficial.

Getting the team into the playoffs in his first full season as starter would give Drew Lock a bit of a rubber stamp as the team’s starting quarterback for several years to come.

The Broncos would be selecting around the No. 20 overall selection in the draft and could add some more pieces to build a championship squad. Those teams are not built overnight.

Look at the Baltimore Ravens over the last six seasons. The team went 5-11 in 2014 before improving to 8-8 the next season. Smart draft picks and offseason additions have shown the team improved its win total in each season since and after landing the quarterback of the future, they are considered one of the top Super Bowl contenders in 2020.

The Broncos could soon be that team.

Though John Elway will never look at a team as being in anything but “win now” mode, a 9-7 record and a playoff berth would be a respectable season for this young team.

Broncos fans are going to hope for more and some are going to expect much more. But realistically, based on the way things stand right now, this is a favorable prediction for the team and shows that there is a belief outside the immediate area that this team is on the come up.
