Based on the way the 2019 season ended and the transactions the Denver Broncos have made since the team is becoming a trendy playoff pick.

Add FanSided’s Matt Verderame to that list of believers. Recently, Verderame predicted the outcome of every game this coming season, including the playoffs.

The writer predicts that the Broncos will have a roller-coaster season, getting wins over the likes of the Tennessee Titans in the season opener and even beating the Kansas City Chiefs in the first meeting of the season. But he also sees the Broncos dropping games to the Atlanta Falcons and Las Vegas Raiders in back-to-back games following their bye week.

All of this leads to a 9-7 record, but the Broncos sneak into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed.

Starting this season, seven teams from each conference make the playoffs, so according to these predictions, the Broncos will be the AFC’s No. 2 Wild Card and would have been in the playoffs under the old format as well.

Once in the playoffs, the Broncos end up heading to New Era Field to face the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills. These two teams face off just about three weeks earlier and Verderame gave that game to the Broncos, 23-20 in overtime.

But that game takes place in Denver and in the playoffs, he gives the edge to the Bills and their home-field advantage. The Bills defeat the Broncos and end their season with a 20-16 win in the Wild Card round, based on these predictions.

That would be a sad ending to the season, but after missing the playoffs in each of the last four seasons, many fans would see the season as a success and one that put the Broncos back on the map.
