CB3/Nickel corner: Bryce Callahan

Everyone was hopeful that 2019 free agent pickup Bryce Callahan could be a force in the slot for Denver last year with Chris Harris Jr. kicking outside, but we never got to see it.

Although Callahan was showing well in training camp for Denver, he had his foot stepped on at the stadium practice last year and wound up missing the entire season after attempting to come back a number of times.

After corrective foot surgery, the Broncos are once again hoping Callahan can be a factor for their team this season and he will be the first man up for the nickel/slot duties in 2020.

Callahan was the only Bears player Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell brought over last year, which speaks volumes to his abilities.

Callahan had been one of the most effective slot corners in the NFL prior to coming to Denver after being undrafted out of Rice in 2015. He was developed from start to finish by Fangio and Donatell, and now will have a chance to redeem himself with Broncos Country, which was not impressed by his lack of presence in 2019.
