CB1: AJ Bouye

The Denver Broncos acquired their new CB1 in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars as their first move of the 2020 offseason.

AJ Bouye was traded to Denver for a fourth-round pick, and this move effectively sealed Chris Harris Jr.’s fate in Denver.

Bouye was not quite fully ‘himself’ in 2019 with the Jaguars, which is partly why he was able to be had for just a fourth-round pick. He played through injury and the Broncos are obviously hoping that he can return to peak form in 2020 at the age of 28/29.

Bouye didn’t allow a touchdown in 2018 and is capable of playing lock-down defense when he’s right health-wise.

He has quick reactive skills to the football and has developed a great feel and understanding for the game since he was undrafted into the league back in 2013.

The Broncos may not necessarily pin Bouye on every team’s number one wide receiver, but he’s going to be counted on to be the top guy at the position in 2020.
