Week 7- Kansas City Chiefs @ Empower Field

Week 13- Kansas City Chiefs @ Arrowhead Stadium

For the first time since 1984, the Denver Broncos will have to play the reigning Super Bowl champions twice in a regular season, and it’s, unfortunately, the divisional rival Kansas City Chiefs.

Two games against the Super Bowl champs with their eye on a potential repeat automatically makes the schedule much tougher, but it would be huge if the Broncos were able to split the series with the Chiefs in 2020. It is clear that the Broncos got better this past offseason, but the Chiefs definitely did not get worse, and recently bolstered their defense with the signing of DE Taco Charlton and solidified their run game with the addition of Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the Draft.

Realistically, the Broncos’ best shot of beating the Chiefs is definitely at home, and as great as Patrick Mahomes and Co. are, they are not unbeatable. If Denver is firing on all cylinders Week 7 at home, they have a shot of beating the Chiefs. Week 13 will be a much harder test for this Denver team–they will have to head to Arrowhead in December once again to take on the Chiefs, and this time, it will be on SNF.

If the Broncos were able to sneak away with a victory in Arrowhead on a December night on primetime, it would be a huge victory for a playoff-hopeful team.
