As part of the 2020 NFL schedule release, the preseason schedule has also become available.
The Denver Broncos now know which teams they will face in the preseason, a schedule that still consists of four games. Many fans deem those games as meaningless, but the guys at the bottom of the roster fighting for their professional careers look at them much differently.
Here is a first look at the team’s preseason schedule:
Week 1 (August 13-16) vs. San Francisco 49ers
Week 2 (August 20-23) vs. Chicago Bears
Week 3 (August 27-30) at Los Angeles Rams
Week 4 (September 3) at Arizona Cardinals
In the second preseason game, the Broncos will take on Vic Fangio’s old team, the Bears. The teams will be involved in joint practices in the week leading up to the game.
The Broncos faced the other three teams in last year’s preseason and have traditionally faced each of those teams in the preseason on a fairly regular basis. The Broncos and Cardinals concluding the preseason against each other has become a regular thing.
Last year, Fangio did not treat Week 3 of the preseason as a “dress rehearsal”, as many teams do, but if he goes that route this year, that game will be against the Rams, a team two years removed from playing in the Super Bowl. They’ll also face the most recent NFC champion, the 49ers.
The Broncos went 2-3 in the preseason last year, including a win in the Hall of Fame Game over the Atlanta Falcons.
The countdown to some actual football is now officially on. The Broncos will be on the field again in just three short months!
