Broncos schedule 2020: Predicting all 16 matchups
By Tylor Walden
Week 2: at Los Angeles Chargers
The first divisional game will arrive in week two of the season as the Broncos make their first trip to SoFi Stadium to take on the Chargers. The team will have quite a few changes as this will mark the first time since 2006 the Broncos will face a Chargers quarterback that is not named Philip Rivers.
During the offseason, the Chargers decided to move on without Rivers as the longtime quarterback signed with the Indianapolis Colts in the offseason. Now the Chargers will have either Tyrod Taylor or Justin Herbert as their starter.
I am certain that the plan for the Chargers is to have Taylor start the season and have Herbert sit for at least the first year. But I would not be surprised if he sees action a bit earlier than expected.
The Chargers did improve a bit on defense during the offseason, capping it off with their trade back into the first round to get Kenneth Murray from the Oklahoma Sooners to man the middle of the defense.
The Broncos will look for their third straight victory against the Chargers as Denver swept the two meetings last season, both of which were decided by at least one score.
