Denver Broncos: First 55-man roster prediction for 2020
Linebackers
Von Miller (OLB), Bradley Chubb (OLB), Todd Davis (ILB), Alexander Johnson (ILB), Justin Strnad (ILB), Josey Jewell (ILB), Justin Hollins (OLB), Derrek Tuszka (OLB), Jeremiah Attaochu (OLB), Malik Reed (OLB) (10)
The Denver Broncos added to one of their biggest strengths in the NFL Draft, selecting linebacker Justin Strnad and defensive lineman Derrek Tuszka (who figures to transition to a stand-up outside linebacker in the NFL.
The Broncos had to learn a new defensive system with head coach Vic Fangio coming to the Mile High City, so, unfortunately, Von Miller had a year that did not consist of many sacks. He still did have a productive year, and that was without his sidekick Bradley Chubb, who missed the season with a torn ACL.
Jeremiah Attaochu re-signed with the Broncos in late March. He was a solid backup who saw a good number of snaps last year with Chubb sidelined.
Alexander Johnson, another guy who came onto the scene for the Broncos last season, secured a starting role at inside linebacker, along with Todd Davis, for his exceptional play. He recorded 93 tackles for the Broncos in 2019.
Josey Jewell, who the people had high expectations of as he came out of Iowa, has unfortunately become a reserve player.
Justin Strnad and Derrek Tuszka hopefully will see some solid playing time for the Broncos in their linebacker rotation.
