Prince Tega Wanogho, tackle, Auburn
One thing the Broncos have yet to do in this draft, likely to the complete dismay of many fans, is to draft an offensive tackle. Yes, the team is going into the season with Garett Bolles and Ja’Wuan James as its starters at the tackle spots.
But taking another prospect who could eventually be groomed to supplant one of those guys isn’t a terrible idea.
Enter Tega Wanogho, a mammoth of a man who is one of this draft’s most interesting prospects.
Many of the guys taken on day three are going to be a work in progress and Wanogho is no exception, but the ceiling for this guy is extremely high.
At this stage in his development, he leaves much to be desired as a run blocker but he stands out in pass protection and he did that in the SEC, where he went against NFL talent.
This is the kind of player Mike Munchak could work wonders with and if he is there when the Broncos go on the clock for their pick in the fourth round, he should absolutely be considered.
Colton McKivitz, tackle, West Virginia
McKivitz is a potential swing tackle prospect, though he’s not equipped with the kind of length that NFL teams love.
He is a scrappy offensive lineman who was a four-year starter for the Mountaineers, earning starts at both tackle spots.
His strength at the point of attack seems questionable but he will win over his teammates with his work ethic and nasty on-field attitude.
