The first three rounds of the 2020 NFL draft are in the books and the Denver Broncos have five new players on their roster.

The Broncos have selected players at positions that most identified as big needs going into this draft including wide receiver, center, cornerback and defensive tackle. Though wide receiver was considered to be the biggest weakness on the team by many analysts, it was surprising to see the Broncos take a wide receiver with their first two picks.

But John Elway has had a clear plan with this selection process, filling holes on his roster by staying put at every pick he has had. The team has made no trades.

On Saturday, the final day of the draft with feature rounds 4-7. Barring any trades, the Broncos still have another five picks to use.

There are still some big names on the board in the draft and as anyone who has followed football for any great length of time can tell you, great players can easily be found on day three of the draft and even the undrafted process.

Considering players that could be picked all the way up to the Broncos’ final selection (No. 254), this article will focus on guys that Elway should consider selecting on Saturday. Most of these players will stick with the team’s philosophy of this draft of bolstering areas of weakness and not reaching for the so-called “best player available”.

Elway has taken a very methodic approach to this year’s draft and clearly believes his team can be a contender this coming season. These picks would help add needed depth for a potential stretch run.
