J.R. Reed

Looking at the safety position on the Denver Broncos roster, there is not a whole lot there. Then again, when you have players like Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson on the roster, that can prove to be a really good duo.

However, the team did lose Will Parks during the free agency period. That means the Broncos will need to search for a safety that can at least play some special teams and provide some spot snaps to keep Simmons and Jackson fresh. That is where J.R. Reed could come into play.

He might not be the strongest safety remaining in the draft, but it seems that he has quite a bit of potential that could translate well in the NFL. I truly believe that he could pair well with the likes of Justin Simmons or Kareem Jackson.

He did a lot during his time in Georgia as the safety. His biggest year came during his senior year, where he was named a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, which is awarded to the top defensive back in the nation.

I believe it is safe to say that J.R. Reed would find a home in Vic Fangio’s defensive scheme.
