2020 NFL Draft: Denver Broncos analysis for every pick
Imagine trying to guard Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Noah Fant, and KJ Hamler with one of Melvin Gordon or Phillip Lindsay in the backfield.
The Denver Broncos thought all Thursday night into Friday about that possibility leading up to day two of the 2020 NFL Draft when they held the 46th overall pick.
As usual, there were rumors that the Broncos could move up for someone, potentially a cornerback or lineman or really anything but a wide receiver. No one expected the Broncos to stay put at 46 and go with another wide receiver, but they did.
KJ Hamler is a dynamic threat with and without the football. He can blow the top off of a defense and claims he has legit 4.2 speed, which we didn’t get to see at the 2020 Scouting Combine but will undoubtedly get to see on the field as soon as sports are back.
It’s hard to imagine the Broncos would actually pull this kind of move, but I absolutely love it.
They went back-to-back receivers and it’s magical.
This draft, in case it wasn’t clear with the top pick of Jerry Jeudy, is all about putting the best possible roster around Drew Lock.
Hamler’s blazing speed, after the catch abilities, inside-outside versatility, and toughness make this pick extremely exciting.
