Provides protection for the run offense

The Broncos have Phillip Lindsay and Melvin Gordon as the running back tandem in the Mile High City. Last season, the Broncos averaged a little less than 104 yards per game in the run offense, which was 20th in the NFL.

Most of the problems in the run game were due to the offensive line. They were unable to open up any holes for Phillip Lindsay during the 2019 season for the majority of the season. That is where Lloyd Cushenberry can come into play.

He can provide a strong center for the Broncos in the run game. His core power is mentioned when it comes to the run game. Being able to keep the defending nose tackle away from the running back will be helpful in opening the holes for the two running backs in Denver.

With some extra holes to run through, the Broncos can find some success in the run game and give the young quarterback some assistance. And it would be awesome to see either one of the running backs get to 1,000 yards rushing. Who knows, maybe Cushenberry can get both Lindsay and Gordon to 1,000 yards each.

Having a solid center to help in the run game can go a long way.
