McTelvin Agim has one of the more unique names of any prospect in the 2020 NFL draft class, but the Denver Broncos hope it is one that sticks for years to come.

The Broncos addressed the defensive line through both trade and free agency this offseason, acquiring Jurell Casey and re-signing Shelby Harris. But the addition of Agim could show that the Broncos don’t want to be in the predicament in finding multiple defensive linemen again next year.

Agim began his playing career at defensive end but moved to the inside during his final season at Arkansas. He had five sacks, which was a career-high in college, and 8.5 tackles for loss last season. He is very much a work in progress.

His first step is extremely quick and once in the backfield, he can punish the ball carrier and force turnovers. But he also lacks consistency. His hand usage is concerning and he will definitely need to bulk up to handle the power he will encounter when going against professional offensive linemen.

But there is plenty to like, mainly because of how quick Agim can get out of his stance and make a play. There is a lot to work with.

A long-term prospect, Agim could be positioned to potentially take the spot of Harris on the team’s defensive line. Remember, Harris only signed a one-year deal with the team.

Though he does have experience at defensive end, the Broncos likely see Agim as a defensive tackle and feel that’s where they can get the most out of him. He’s not a guy who should be expected to contribute greatly as a rookie, but just by being in the team’s system and acclimating himself to the pro game will be huge for him.

This is a pick you need to look at with future aspirations in mind but his potential ceiling is quite high and he could be a future star for this team.
