This could very well come across as a massive reach, but it’s really not.

Amik Robertson was a relative unknown a couple of months ago, but as more people have gotten the chance to watch him play, he’s been skyrocketing up draft boards.

There should be a huge run on cornerbacks between the time the Broncos pick in round one to the time they pick in the second. This pick is so tough to predict in terms of the player, but I do think the Broncos are going to go wide receiver and then cornerback with their top two picks.

Amik Robertson to me is an ideal replacement for what the Broncos lost with Chris Harris Jr., maybe not right away, but over the long term.

This guy checks in at just under 5-foot-9, but he plays like he’s 6-foot-2 and you never notice the size deficiency with him on tape.

Especially as he projects to the slot, Robertson’s ability to diagnose plays, blitz, pick off passes, and hit people are all traits Vic Fangio will love.

Combine that with the fact that much of his experience in college came playing off coverage, and you may have the ideal second-round pick for Denver, which could be looking to double up on both corner and receiver in this draft.
