The San Francisco 49ers sent the Broncos the 95th pick in the middle of the 2019 season in exchange for wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.
Now the Broncos use that same pick to move up with the 49ers in order to select a wide receiver to effectively replace Sanders.
This trade makes sense for both parties. The 49ers could look for a more robust package in a move down, but dropping to 15 from 13 and recouping a third-round pick (the 49ers have no picks after pick 31 until the 5th round).
There’s no reason for Broncos fans to become attached to all three of those third-round picks. Sure, they could use them all and try to take some shots on players, but moving pick 95 to ensure a receiver of Jeudy’s caliber is a worthwhile investment.
Jeudy is explosive, quick, he’s a tremendous route runner, and he has the speed to take the top off of the defense. He may not have the type of dynamic, elite speed of Henry Ruggs III, but let’s not forget that Jeudy was the 2018 Biletnikoff Award winner as a sophomore not just because he was a great possession receiver.
This guy is the whole package.
It would not be surprising to see this pick be Henry Ruggs or CeeDee Lamb, either, but the latest buzz has been trending towards Jeudy.
