4. Tristan Wirfs, OL, Iowa

I have said it before and I’ll say it again — Tristan Wirfs is the only offensive lineman worth trading up for for the Broncos.

Why?

Wirfs has played both right and left tackle in college and is a guy many scouts believe also projects well to the guard position.

Because of that versatility and potential, Wirfs is a rare chess piece on the OL who could come in and do a number of different jobs and do them well. If the Broncos were to draft Wirfs, the ideal option would be to play him right away at right guard and have Graham Glasgow playing center.

If things didn’t work out with one of Garett Bolles or Ja’Wuan James in 2020, then you could have Wirfs take over one of their spots.

Wirfs is a blue-chip offensive line prospect and athletic freak. He tested better at 320 pounds than some tight ends.

The Broncos have spent a lot of time sniffing around the Iowa program in recent years and I think Wirfs is a guy they would obviously have a lot of intel on.

Just to be hypothetical, if the Broncos were going to trade up for another offensive lineman, Georgia’s Andrew Thomas would be the guy.

He may not have the athleticism of some of the other big names, but he’s the best pure left tackle in this draft and would present an upgrade over Garett Bolles at a premium position. He was also a Freshman All-American at the right tackle position three years ago.
