After the Scouting Combine, Isaiah Simmons solidified himself as a top-five player in this draft class.

That doesn’t mean he’s going in the top five picks.

Simmons could go anywhere from third to the Lions on down the line in the top 10 picks. You could make a case for really any team to take him, and it seems foolish to predict he would last past the Carolina Panthers at 7 overall.

But again — there are always scenarios.

What if the Panthers don’t take Simmons at seven and the Cardinals or Jaguars didn’t want him badly enough? What if he was still on the board at 10 or 11?

It’s not impossible.

There are NFL teams who think Simmons is not only the best linebacker in this draft class, there are teams who think he is the best safety as well.

This guy is a freak of nature, and he’s a playmaker. He’s more than just a great athlete who is not great at any one position. He’s really great at multiple positions.

Imagining a Broncos secondary with Simmons-squared is outrageously fun.
