26th Overall (Dolphins) – Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma

With the Miami Dolphins addressing offense in their first two picks in the form of quarterback and offensive line, there is a possibility they could keep the trend going and add a wide receiver or running back, but I feel it a more likely scenario that they will address defense with their third pick of the first round.

While they are pretty set at the cornerback position, they have holes to fill on the rest of the defense. While they could have taken a guy like Grant Delpit at safety here, I also did not anticipate LB Kenneth Murray to fall to 26, as he has been mocked to the New Orleans Saints frequently.

That being said, at this point, Kenneth Murray is arguably best player available, and I don’t feel the Dolphins pass on him if he is available, considering their linebacker corps could use solidifying as well. Kenneth Murray was a great defensive player who does not receive the love he deserves due to playing on a Big 12 defense.

Having a comparison to Kwon Alexander, Murray is extremely fast and a physical specimen with a massive wingspan. Murray’s sideline to sideline range is amazing and he can fly around the field with the speed of a safety. He is a playmaker and one of his top upsides is he does not give up on a play and is a three-down backer.

He will make any team happy, but he would be a good piece to add to the young linebackers corps the Dolphins have with lots of promise in a roster that can hold longevity.
