25th Overall (Vikings) – Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

The Minnesota Vikings were able to secure a wideout to help on offense with the 22nd overall pick. Now it is time to address the defensive side of the football. With the departure of Xavier Rhodes during this offseason, the Vikings really need to find a cornerback that could help the defense.

There were a lot of intriguing picks for the Vikings at cornerback but going with this pick allows them to get stronger at the position. There is a lot of potential with this pick, with many comparing Trevon Diggs to former Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib.

He presents a strong physical style to the cornerback position. And it will certainly be needed with the NFC North wideouts he will be going up against. Not to mention going up against a strong quarterback in Aaron Rodgers twice a year.

As a former wide receiver, Diggs could really help himself out when it comes to covering as a cornerback because he played the position before. The only concern is his speed. Being able to keep up for a while in deep passes could hurt Trevon Diggs.

With their first two picks, the Minnesota Vikings took care of two big needs from their losses in free agency.
