23rd Overall (Cowboys via Patriots) – K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE, LSU

After trading with the New England Patriots to move down, the Dallas Cowboys still get their guy in Chaisson to help on defense. This offseason saw Jerry Jones focus on getting the offense set. The only issue on that side of the football is the status of Dak Prescott.

With the offense set, the Cowboys would focus on defense. Dallas does not have a lot going for them at the edge rusher category. The big thing here is if Jerry Jones truly wants to get it going for this team, he needs to focus on building the defense.

Outside of Chase Young, Chaisson would be a really good investment. The only issue would be his injury history. The LSU prospect is roughly two years removed from a torn ACL and missed two games this past season with an ankle injury. That alone could be the reason he falls in some draft boards.

But with how much the need is, I believe the Dallas Cowboys would be smart to take that risk. Even though he missed two games, his play on defense did help for the National Championship team. Therefore, a strong pick at a big need for the Cowboys to help with the defense.
